Dear SI community,

You are invited to attend a special session related to power integrity
at 2005 IEEE EMC Symposium in Chicago in Wednesday (8/10) afternoon.
There are total eight papers by the invited anthers from both academy
and industry. For your convenience, I copied the paper titles and
anthers here.

The issue of delivering power for high-speed digital logic, while
conceptually simple, is among the most significant contributors to
signal integrity problems in high-speed digital designs. This session
will address the state of the art in terms of research and engineering
for PDN design.
The list of papers and authors:
* Todd H. Hubing (University of Missouri-Rolla), "Effective strategies
for choosing and locating printed circuit board decoupling capacitors"
* Madhavan Swaminathan, Prathap Muthana, Devarajan Balaraman, P.M Raj,
Swapan Bhattacharya, Lixi Wan, and Rao Tummala (Georgia Institute of
Technology), "Design, Modeling and Characterization of embedded
capacitor networks for mid-frequency decoupling in semiconductor
systems"
* Ravi Kaw (Agilent Technologies), Madhavan Swaminathan (Georgia Tech),
and Istvan Novak (Sun Microsystems), "Towards developing a standard for
data input/output format for PDN modeling & simulation tools "
* Bruce Archambeault, and Samuel Connor (IBM), "Power bus decoupling
analysis using time domain and frequency domain"
* Giuseppe Selli, James L. Drewniak, Richard E. DuBroff (University of
Missouri-Rolla), Jun Fan, James L. Knighten, Norman W. Smith, Dean McCoy
(NCR), and Bruce
Archambeault (IBM), "Power integrity investigation of BGA footprint by
means of the segmentation method"
* Ralf Schmitt, and Chuck Yuan (Rambus), "Power distribution design for
multigigabit I/O interfaces - methodologies for modeling, analysis, and
verification"
* J.-Y. Ihm, I.-J. Chung, G. Manetas and A.C. Cangellaris (University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), "Comprehensive models for the
investigation of on-chip switching noise generation and coupling"
* Zhiping Yang, Vinu Arumugham, Syed Huq, and Ilyoung Park (Cisco),
"Enhancement of IBIS model capability in simultaneous switching noise
(SSN) and other power integrity related simulations - Proposal,
Implementation, and Validation"
