A pretty good book on oscillator phase noise, with some hand-holding on the math, is "Phase Noise in Signal Sources" by W. P. Robins. Published by Peter Peregrinus Ltd. for IEE. 1982, paperback in 1984. Unfortunately it is rather old and may be out of print or stock. Try a library. At one time you could order it through the IEEE, here in the States. The back cover reads, in part, "The mature engineer whose mathematics may be somewhat rusty will find that every effort has been made to use the lowest level of mathematical sophistication that is compatible with a full analysis and every line of each mathematical argument has been set out so that the book may be read and understood even in an armchair."
