 In the EU, from July 2006, the following are banned: 
? 
?Lead (PCB solders); 
?Mercury (Switches, Relays and Batteries); 
?Cadmium (Switches and Relays); 
?Hexavalent Chromium (Metal Treatment); 
?Polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs ? no longer made in EU) 
?Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs ? soon to be phased out in EU

just curious to know what could be the alternates for the PCB solders?
