The aspect ratio of these capacitors yields only a modest improvement in
a lower ESR.
On high frequency mircrostrip circuits, an array of spanning values does
well to provide a well bypassed plane. Since the SRF of each capacitor
varies with Frequency, to bypass 1 Ghz down to 1 Mhz, you'll need to
include an array of values, like 47 Pf, 470 Pf, .001 UF, .01 UF, .1UF.
Not all caps of the same exact value are created equal either. A vector
impedance meter or network analyser is very useful to compare different
vendors parts

IDS capacitors work well on IC packages because it is possible to
achieve
very low mounting inductance. No to so for PCBs.
