BREED SURVEY EVALUATION

Event date: Sunday, August 14th, 2005
Judges: Mr. Daniel L. Smith and Ms. Emily St. Hilaire
Location: High Plains Community Center, Orange Center Road, Orange CT
Groups:
6-9 months, 9-12 months, 12-18 months, Open (over 18 months)
Groups divided by sex.
Pre Entries suggested - Dinner Reservations required - see address below.
Check in time: 9:30 and 15 min before each class. Judging begins
at 10:30
The German Shepherd Dog club of Greater New Haven Inc. is pleased to sponsor
the Seventh Breed Survey/Evaluation. Bring your show and/or breeding animals,
obedience dogs, companions, your chairs, a couple of friends, and your
pencils and paper.
Description of Event:
Two identical Breed Survey forms will be completed on each dog (one by each
judge). There will be one ring. Each dog will enter the ring individually and
be surveyed and the form completed independently by each Judge. The Judges
will not confer with each other.
The second part of the evaluation is optional at the owner's discretion.
After every dog has been surveyed for that class, the dogs in that class will
be
called into the ring as a group. The judges will then evaluate the group as a
whole but will not move any dog from the armband order. The Judges will then
write down their placing of all the dogs in the class again without
conferring with the other. They will then give this placing to the steward.
The
spectators will be encouraged to also write down their placing privately. We
will
then have the steward announce each Judges placing and the dogs will line up
in that order after which the Judge will be given an opportunity to discuss the
placing with the spectators.
This group will then be dismissed and all exhibitors will be given a signed
copy of their dogs Breed Survey/Evaluation by each Judge. A copy of the Survey
report will be retained in confidentiality
by the GSDC/GNH Inc. for verification of contents only in the event the
report is used for publication by the owner and any dispute arises as to the
accuracy of the Survey.

person.

Directions:
I-95 South, take exit 41, turn right -- follow to second traffic light (Route
1) turn left -- go to 1st traffic light, turn right (Orange Center Road).
Follow through traffic light. High Plains Community Center is on right.
I-95 North, take exit 41, turn left at end of exit. At 3rd traffic light,
turn left (Route 1). Follow same directions as above.
Merritt Parkway (Rte 15) North, take exit 56 -- go straight through light --
go to second stop sign -- turn right (Orange Center Road). High Plains
Community Center is approximately 1 mile on the left.
Merritt Parkway (Rte 15) South, take exit 56 -- turn right at end of ramp --
take left at 1st traffic light --follow directions above.
