My first experience with the two shows in one day (outdoors) came last weekend in Oklahoma. In the morning, Carolyn Herbel gave WD to the 6-9 puppy dog. When I judged at 2 PM for the Tulsa club, the puppy was exhausted and did not show well. So my conclusion is that two shows in the same day in a warm weather site can be hard on the animals. I am not worried about the handlers as they have the choice to show or not to show. Now, my experience with two shows in one day inside in the air conditioned atmosphere is totally different. The first show was an all breed and the specialty was after BIS. This gave the dogs a long time to adapt to the conditions and recover from the first show. I think there are good and bad things associated with the two show concept just as there are in all of our lives. The clubs need to do what is best for survival.
