I just had an amazing phone call this morning. A pup I sold to a girl who
does search and rescue has been doing very well in her training and was
certified in VA last year and was unofficially doing some searches that some
out of state Law Enforcement Agencies had requested her for (lots of the
Police Departments will watch the different groups train and share info when
they find a dog they really like). Sher (Sher the Ride) was sired by CH.
Shadyrock's Cohosh Chimicifuga out of Whisper Hills Elite Design Ashes and
is three years old. The team tried to talk her owner out of getting her as
they said "a dog from show lines can't work just look at her show gait."
Well she certified before the rest of the team (with dogs which have trained
much longer and are older). This alone made me very proud of her. 

 

In the past she found a body in the trunk of a car on a four acre lot of
junk cars (she is a cadaver dog) and yesterday she was ask to go to a search
south of VA on a cold case. The last of the original investigating
detectives was going to retire and he wanted this case closed before he did.
He was sure he knew the killer. Well Sher and her partner Sherie went down
and within the morning Sher found the body that had gone undetected for 17
years. The bones had been burned and buried but she found them and the "bad
guy" has been arrested!!!!!!!!!!!! 

 

These dogs are amazing!!!!!!!!!!! Score one for the good guys!!
