I think maybe the problem is the size of the dogs vs. the strength of the greenies. No, they don't dissolve...and if the dog bites off chunks of the large size greenies, I can see them causing a blockage. While my furkids do get them from time to time, and would, as I said, eat them all day long if I let them, they are considered a rare treat around here and there isn't a dog on the place who has ever had them two days in a row, or even every other day. I do know people who have given them on a daily basis to dogs who needed to have their teeth cleaned, and at least two were saved from that by the greenies, which did clean their teeth beautifully. Having said that...if there's a blockage, probably the only way to get rid of it is surgery.......if the vets don't want to do that I haven't a clue how to resolve a blockage.
