It seems that people are passionate about what they feed their dogs, even more
than what they feed themselves. The arguments range from what is natural in the
wild to what the dogs like best.

I do not eat raw. I will not die from a miscue from a sushi chef, preparing a
poison fish, nor from life threatening bacteria in undercooked food. It may be
more of a family culture thing than reality - who knows? My dad did a short
stint as a butcher and we raised most of our own food and he was death on
hygiene. We had a cow, and the milk had to be pasteurized properly, our meat
had to be handled properly and everything had to be cooked until all bacteria
were dead - very dead.

We all know that there are risks in life and that our dogs are not exempt from
the diseases that we can share. So, whether we choose to ignore the
recommendations of animal nutritionists or not is a personal choice and risk.

Never did buy the 'animals in the wild' argument. The human race is a long time
ago separated from the Neanderthal and our dogs have not been in the wild for a
long time. Probably the better argument is that dogs who followed primitive
tribes ate the garbage from the tribes table, but then that would not sell well.

No raw for Papa - no raw for Fido! Not much of a risk taker. My choice!

Dave
