A good time ago, I used frozen sperm shipped to me & the vet did the AI we 
ended with a litter of 4 or 5
(cannot remember without lookin at my files).

Then, some months ago my boy Legend's sperm was used.   (he has been gone 
for around 4 years)
This was a first litter for the bitch - she whelped 5 pups.

So, I have to attest to the belief that AI,s  do work if they are done 
correctly.   Just my experience...........
