Kelly has it right...if it's your breed, then you need to be a member of
the Parent Club so that you have something to say about it. If you
aren't a member, then you can "say" anything you want to, but it has no
bearing on what's going to happen because you can't vote.
I dropped my GSDCA membership a long time ago for various
reasons...none of which seem valid to me now, I must say--
and I rejoined just a couple of years ago. Why? Because I dearly love
this breed and wanted to be involved in what happened to it, which could
only happen if I had the right to vote.
While some things may never be put to the general membership for a
vote, it's pretty certain that they won't be put to non- members ever.
Therefore, it seems clear to me that anyone who is the least bit
concerned about what happens to the breed, about the direction the breed
takes should any changes have to be made, about who's running things
that involve the breed...
will want to join the parent club.
And, if a member doesn't vote, then that member should keep quiet
about things that happen that the member doesn't like. If you care,
you join the club, you learn what you need to know and you vote.
