Politics are always interesting. Here is what they said, and what they
mean:
Here is what the AKC said:
"With the input of the judging community in mind, the Board today has
taken
the following actions:
This is what it means!
WE GOT SO MANY PEOPLE BITCHING AT US, WE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO BACK OFF,
CIRCLE THE WAGONS, AND FIND A WAY TO DO THIS WITHOUT BEING STRUNG UP.
1. The previously approved fee structure has been withdrawn by the
Board and new fee structures will be considered. The concept of judges'
fees
remains intact.
WE ARE STILL GOING TO CHARGE YOU, AND WE ARE GOING TO SOAK YOU GOOD. BUT,
AT THIS TIME WE DECIDED WE HAD TO CHANGE THE DIRECTION AND FIGURE OUT A WAY
TO DO THIS SO WE GET YOUR MONEY, AND YOU DON'T KNOW HOW WE DID IT.
2. The Board has instructed AKC staff to revisit the alternatives
discussed over the past year in addition to the other suggestions made
recently by several judges to arrive at several equitable methods for
consideration.
THE BOARD WANTS SOMEONE ELSE TO TAKE THE BLAME AND THIS WAY WE CAN SAY IT
WAS A STAFF DECISION. WE HAVE A COUPLE OF JUDGES WHO TOLD US WHAT THEY
THOUGHT OF US, AND ALTHOUGH WE DON'T ACTUALLY CARE WHAT THEY THINK, WE HAVE TO
PRETEND WE DO. SO WE WILL THROW IT TO OUR STAFF, AND THEY CAN BE
RESPONSIBLE, NOT US.
3. The Board has instructed AKC staff to meet again with
representatives of judges organizations for input on these methodologies
before any
final decision is made."
WE WILL SIT BACK IN OUR OFFICES AND LET THE STAFF GET RAKED OVER THE COALS
BY THE JUDGES AND THOSE THEY SEND TO THE OFFICE TO BITCH. THEN AFTER THEY
HAVE HEARD ALL THEY NEED TO HEAR, WE WILL IGNORE IT ALL, AND DO WHATEVER WE
WANT TO DO. BUT, WE, THE BOARD, WON'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE JUDGES
ORGANIZATIONS AND WE CAN JUST KEEP ON DOING WHAT WE USED TO DO. GET BIG FAT
CHECKS EACH MONTH.
Hopefully, they will take this opportunity to find a balanced and fair
solution to their financial dilemma.

WANT. WHEN WE SAY "THEIR FINANCIAL DILEMMA" IT SOUNDS LIKE IT HAD NOTHING
TO DO WITH US. THAT IS HOW WE LIKE IT.
NOT THAT THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT.
