Maybe I'm just lucky o.o Strauss has an incredibly deep nose. When I ask him to track, he tracks. He has never air scented unless he has had free run of the yard. I never even had to bait his beginner tracks. In fact, if they WERE baited (by an instructor), he gave me the impression that he was annoyed, as the scent of meat covered the scent of what he was tracking. Strauss isn't slow and methodical either....he pulls me down the tracks like a mad man. I'm usually at the tail end of the 40' line. People have asked me why I don't use a 20-33' line...simple answer...my dog won't track when I'm that darned close! If I had any idea how to go about it, I'd get Strauss registered with the SV or what have you and I'd try to go for the FH. Right now I'm just concentrating on getting his TD. - Jackie In a message dated 11/6/2006 4:37:06 PM Central Standard Time, legatogsd@xxxxxxxxxxx writes: Like I said, it is not a natural thing at all ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2006.
