Hello- Jane Spalding did the Ruthie strip in the early 1980's and we run them
in our newsletters today. Jane was the Editor of the Northland Shepherd News
before me and retired on top with a Dog Writers Association of America award
for best newsletter. Occasionally at a club meeting we catch Jane doodling
with the Ruthie character and we confiscate it for the newsletter. Jane is a
wonderful person with an amazing memory for detail and a wonderful sense of
humor and we feel very fortunate to have her as a lifetime member of our club.
Jane also writes a pet column for us and has just added a new Kennel Helper
column to her contributions.
