I don’t like Dog Parks, either, (although that wasn’t the reason I posted that
bit ! :-\ _) BUT while I was visiting them to evaluate the various ones for
the obedience club that time, I saw a lot of people enjoying the parks and lots
of dogs enjoying them, too. The best ones had separate fenced areas for
smaller, younger dogs, lots of education about dog diseases, training clubs,
didn’t allow dog walkers (a couple of the parks had dog walkers bring in 4 or
more dogs and just turning them loose..and then ignored them while chatting
with their friends NOT good!).

I loved to take Moxie and Sassy down to the Orange County Dog Beach. Timed
right, it was empty of people and dogs and I was glad we had the opportunity.

I think it all goes back to my favorite word - Choice! It’s our choice to
enjoy our animal in our way and we have to keep fighting to maintain that
choice!

I don't like to disagree with Paul, but I have been on some boards to discuss
with the cities establishing dog parks. The purpose of them was to help
apartment owners have dogs, and also a place to take them, and walk them. It
was not a plot by ARs, and certainly not a place for dogs to eat each other.

There is fault, but it is the dog owners who do not control or pick up after
their dogs.

I certainly would not allow my dogs to run in a dog park, only because of
fleas, and other pests, (including many dog owners).

I remember selling a dog to a couple who lived in Emerald Cove. The houses
were so close there was no room to walk between them, and no sidewalks, the
entire lot was house to house. They took the dog to the beach twice a day to
exercise and do his thing. The cheapest home in the area was $5,000,000.
The couple's neighbor was John Wayne's daughter.

People need space with dogs. But, if they live in an apartment, or a million
dollar home, they can adjust. Dog parks are not evil, just nasty.

And after reading the post about the Pope that Tish sent us to read, maybe we
should be careful with the genocide word.

Hiya all...

That would be the freedom for your dogs to run unfettered on public lands and
without the barriers associated with “dog parks”!

Oh no...Jeez Louise...Paul’s gonna say it agin! Right again Mate...Dog Parks
are a byproduct of ARO regulations and backward thinking laws. You evil dog
owners/breeders are NOT responsible enough to keep your dogs under
control...so the City must do it for you. Corral those vicious beasts in a
100’ X 75’ closed area and then sit back and watch them eat each other...&
otherwise rip each other asunder.

The appearance of Dog Parks is almost as bad to the responsible pet
owner/breeder as Limited Registration was from AKC. Both nefarious plots were
hatched by PETA & their minions & we the unsuspecting responsible pet
owner/breeders did nothing to oppose their creation.

Cest la vie mon amies...

Paul
