Judges CAN control speed in t he ring. You can ask, and ask, and ask, or do
something about it. Years ago I showed my own dogs. Those of you who know
me are already laughing [ SHUT UP!!]. F or those of you who don't.....lets
just say I'm height challenged and not exactly svelt. In fact, I got into dog
shows as a direct result of a knee injury that put me in a leg brace for a year
and no walking/jogging or really any other exercise  for the same time
period. My doctor thought it would be good for me [little did he know.....
LOL]  At t he 1984 Futurity/Maturity I was showing a Senior Maturity dog.Â
After about two laps Lamar [another Lamar story] lined us up and put me right
to t he front of t he line - in front of Jimmy, and Terry, and Sco tty, and
about ten others and kept me there until he was ready to place t he class. My
boy was nicely bred but was really just a nice all breed dog - not what I'd
call a Specialty dog even then. Nieve though was I so I thought I'd really
lucked out and might just win it and couldn't understand why Lamar was laughing
and Jimmy was grumbling and waiting until I was about half way around t he ring
befo re starting........ Â LOLÂ [I think t he next time I was in t he ring
with Jimmy he offered to start showing dogs for me so it wouldn't happen
again!! LOL] On e way or another the judge CAN control speed in his/her
ring!!

If we work the dogs at the CORRECT speed, not racing like finishers at the
Derby, it would
