Patrick,
Thank you so much for taking the time to do the research. I just got back
from the Poodle National. They had many performance events plus
conformation, and no, the rings were not stadium size, but who are we kidding,
must
handlers dont take the whole ring anyway. I know, I bet and won some money
last year based on who would start cutting the ring......<G>
I was impressed at the sense of relaxation all thru out the different
venues, no admission charge, lots of raffles, auctions, good food, vendors.
Everyone just chilling.
I would be concerned to see our troops with so many scissors and stripping
knifes in their hands...LOL
No one can explain why the hesitation and the negativity towards the Purina
facility. Hopefully our board will move in on this facility QUICK, before
others do and we have a repeat of Perry.

have some time on my hands. I am by no means an expert on all the ins and
outs of what we need for our National, nor do I want to step on the toes of
our hard working board or committees but it seems to me that going each year
to an equestrian venue and spending $10,000.00 for sod to try to make it
workable for our dogs was fine when it was our only option. Beginning this
year we have the option of the Purina Farms Event Center that is fairly
centralized in the country as well as set up SPECIFICALLY for dogs. I spoke

just to be able to answer some of my own questions. He states that next
week they are installing "alpha sport padded floor" in the 45,000 sq ft.

cs - nothing even resembling "astro turf". This should be excellent for
dogs and handlers alike. He also stated that on the 350 acres that comprise
Purina Farms they have, I believe he said 700 sheep, to use free of charge
for herding. I don't know what it normally costs to bring in sheep, care
for them for the week then ship them back out but again the man said
"free". There very well may be things about Purina Farms that make it
unusable
for us but either way I believe that this needs to be looked at very
carefully and soon. He also stated that "they would sure like an answer soon
because other clubs have expressed an interest in our dates". If you are
