[ SHOWGSD-L ] Regional Challenge Addition Maybe or NOT

Don't you just love the old party game that starts out with a simple
statement and once it gets around the room you don't even recognize the subject.
This whole Regional Challenge debate over Associate members or whatever
started with a question from a GSDCA Member who asked how they could support a
club
with the points they were earning. I suggested they all form an Independent
Group much like the football schools that do not belong to a conference.
Then, here comes Atlanta, always with a good idea, join us, we have Associate
Memberships (Found out there are several clubs that offer Associate
memberships) and the roar was on. We heard from a club who still thinks they
did not
get proper credit for titles and points they say they mailed BUT KELLY NEVER
RECEIVED, another comment from someone who said he did not contribute anything
to the Challenge (He did finish a title, wonder why he never supported his
club?); and someone who thought if we accepted Associate Membership points then
we
would spell the end of the Challenge.
It was a good discussion but NOTHING has changed, yes Dawnmarie you are
totally correct, The Regional Club Challenge's mission is to recognize the
activities of the GSDCA Regional Clubs and to foster growth through competition
as
well as the sharing of ideas and resources. In addition, the GSDCA Regional
Club
Challenge is meant to promote camaraderie among the individual members within
the regional clubs associated with the GSDCA by encouraging competition with
other clubs.
So, we will not have a group of Independents submitting points without
belonging to a Regional Club, we will not allow a club to annex another club
just so
they can have their points and we will continue to review the club's rosters
each year (yes, Kelly does pay attention to where your members reside).
Now the questions I must ask is to those of you who have participated in this
discussion: Do you belong to a Regional Club? Are contributing to your Club?
Are you getting off the couch and having fun with your dog?
Cause folks, that is what the Regional Club Challenge is all about, fun with
your club members and your dog.
