[ SHOWGSD-L ] PAWS opposition

Wednesday evening was the annual picnic for the German Shepherd Dog
Club of Central Ohio, and our first get-together after our summer
break. Although the focus of the evening was social (for the members
and dogs), we had also planned for a short membership meeting.
At the meeting I presented as much information as I could about PAWS
and the reason for opposing it. A motion was made for Rosemary Booth
(our secretary) and me (as president) to draft a letter outlining the
opposition to this poorly conceived piece of legislation by our
members and our club. The letter is to be sent to the AKC, all of the
legislatures from Ohio, the sponsors of the Bill, and the local
media. The motion passed unanimously, and Rosemary and I will get the
letter drafted asap.
