It was certainly possible in the past to resubmit to change ratings on animals that had failed to receive a hip or elbow number. Eventually the day will come when OFA will not be necessary because we will identify the genes involved in the development of hip dysplasia but in the meantime we should all remember that the current certification system is as much art as it is science.
