National Site should have two important criteria to ensure maximum entry:

a. Central Site(Not on either coast)
b. Site where Air Transport is a major hub

Colorado seems to come to mind.

Remember how everyone was worried about the weather in October:0)   As I
remember it was 70 degrees :0)  Mt Saint Helens did not disappoint she blew
off steam while the national was going on. I remember someone asking me what
we plan to do if she threatened to erupt . I said we were looking for a
virgin to sacrifice :0)

Holding a national in your home state is a lot of work for the regional
clubs. That is another factor when choosing a national show site. Is there a
regional club with enough member to help?

Everyone gets on the direct flight ban wagon. You can hardly fly any longer
with a dog Shipping is getting more expensive then flying yourself. The only
fair solution is to rotate the national as the membership voted to do years
ago. west, central, east, central, west, At least that way you would have a
chance to drive to a national every 4 years. the mid state would host every
other year. Pick 3 sites that work and stick with them. that would mean that
the parent club could negotiate contracts in advance.

Contracts need to be done in advance we are not the only dog show in town.
