Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Monkeys , Pigs, Reno National
We meet with the Convention & Visitors Authority this week end.
I’ll try to remember to ask if outside food is allowed in the
pavilion. If so, then the parties on!
Many years ago we had a family reunion. A professional chef was in
the family, and a good one, usually, so he was in charge of the food.
He dug a hole in the back yard, lined it with rocks, built the BBQ
fire, let it burn down a bit, lined with more rocks, prepared whole
pig – rubs, sauce, salt, pepper, and other stuff – wrapped it in
burlap and threw it in the pit. Come dinner time, the family lieu was
surprise by the succulent aroma, the grand expectations – dug up the
pig – Raw! Did not cook at all!
SO Ed, I cannot tell you how to do it, but I can tell you how not to
do it!

This year is the year of the Monkey! If you are turning
12,24,36,48,60,72,84 this year , you are a Monkey and this is your
year, ( I'm a snake, no surprise there). Anyway I think next year,
2017 is the pig ( but I could be wrong) I'm contemplating doing a
whole BBQ hog! ( pig) at the Reno National, or maybe it's the Vicodin
talking... Had a tooth pulled this morning, and it's taking all the
fun out of me...toothless in Brentwood....saw the OJ thing on FX the
other day, amazing how folks (some) think he's innocent... What did PT
Barnum say? Guess it's like the raw diet eh.....lol...Goodnight Johnny
