Perhaps somebody that has been following this more closely than I have can expand on this? From what I have gleaned from posts placed on BSL-Updates, Canada has a ?law? that requires all dogs to be microchipped with ISO Microchips. There is concern that dogs exported to the U.S. may have a problem with scanners not being able to read the new chips as most shelters have stated they read only Fecava chips. There is concern that with the possible passage of PAWS,if the AKC goes with the AVMA and recommends or makes mandatory, micro chipping dogs, then there are concerns over privacy issues. The HSUS states on their webpage, that for the USDA to properly monitor the breeding of litters, they would require that the dog registry data banks be made "accessible". The concern is, will cities and townships have access as well? If anybody has more information on this, please let me know.
