I too have some wonderful Gail memories.....and one I have shared with several
people but never on the list.
I was the SW futurity chair in 2007 and I asked Gail to come judge a match and
do a junior handler
training class.....was thrilled she said yes but insisted she wanted to stay
with me and not in a hotel
which was fine with me.
We had a breed seminar and meal on the Friday night and a large hospitality
meal on Saturday night for everyone. I was so tired Gail suggested she would
drive me home......assured me all was well for her to
drive. We did great until we got on my own road home and I nodded off. The
road ended at a T intersection and stop sign, but I lived about 2 miles before
the sign. Gail drove on to the sign and just stopped. I woke up and look
around, knew we had missed the house. Gail admitted she could not find the
house so just stopped and would have woke me if she could have remembered my
name. Once awake she knew......and we laughed so hard about it.
Last I saw her was at the Ft Collins national and I was so happy she was given
the Connie Beckhart award.
Miss you my friend.....
Molly

I have a special memory of Gail and I just talking and visiting for over an
hour at the shows up in Washington. I was so surprised to see her there as she
came over to see me as I was exercising a dog away from the ring. Just the
two of us standing out on the
grass as we just watched the dogs and talked. She was having a really good
day....and it really made my day, just visiting and talking dogs, and life, and
happily laughing at some old memories that we had a good time sharing.
Gail was remarkably intelligent, and had a 'dry' sense of humor, as do I, and
we always had a good laugh. I never saw her again after that, and I am so
grateful for that final great visit. It was a gift..........

I do have it, and every time I feel melancholy, I pull it out and look at it.
It was he last time Gail recognized me, and we were able to talk. Special
memory.

The last picture I took of Gail was standing with you at the Phoenix shows.
Love that shot. I hope I sent it to you.

I did enjoy watching that. I like anything that has me in it.
I also remembered the name of each handler and each judge. I guess that is a
good sign. But, it did remind me of how fleeting life is, and how thankful I
was last Thursday to have good friends and be able to enjoy another holiday
with them.
I took part of today off, and am looking forward to my trial tomorrow.
I remember when Ron Lucas made that video. Ron is gone now, aso is Candy, but I
represented their son and daughter, so the connection remains. Ron sent the
video to me when he made it, and that is why so much of it is the West Coast,
(all of it).
And, I still wear the jacket Gail Sprock gave me, but only to the National. It
is the gray leather one with the patches. She had one in green, and I told
her how much I liked it. The following week, I got the gray version in the
mail. She will always be in my mind, one of my favorite people, who now
sadly, so many of the shepherd people never had the chance to meet.
Time waits for no man.
