I have a Tibetan spaniel, and this is something the
breeders test for at 8 weeks old BEFORE they go into homes
since it may not affect the dog till later in life. But
the disease its self can be detected BEFORE any problems
begin. Tell your friend to test both parents just to see
if one of them may have it, just have not get had any
symptoms. And this is a genetic condition
