I will have to humbly disagree with most of this, Evan, but I realize you
have no experience with lines other than American. I also think its wrong
to make the assumption that European dogs all have incorrect
toplines........They Don't, it's that simple.
Many of the European dogs would be very competitive here. There is not a
difference in type. They have attributes we could use and vice versa.
In the crosses we have done we have always gotten good, correct toplines,
and good length of neck.
Technology has made the world smaller. You can see pictures and videos of
many dogs from all over the world and see for yourself.
The dog that went WD today at Los Encinos KC is 1/8 German. You would never
know it unless I told you. He has excellent length of neck, beautiful front
extension and great rear drive and of course an excellent topline just like
his dam who is 1/4 German.
Just like any breeding with ANY pedigree you have to do your homework and
study the background. Don't make the mistake of thinking you know the
background.
