We all have leaned (those of us on the Left Coast) from Jerry. I remember one show where Jerry was asked to give the judge a loose lead but never did. He did not win, and after the show I asked him why he didn't do it. He told me that on a loose lead the dog would show a very weak back, so he would rather lose than show everyone there a bad back. There were a number of judges at ring side. There are handlers, and then there are smart handlers. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
