Dogs are considered baggage period. not added baggage:-(

Just to clarify. I have never ever had a problem with Continental airlines,
nor Frontier, nor Alaska/ Horizon, nor Delta, nor United nor USAir when
they still flew dogs nor Northwest, nor American......
I ONLY have a problem with Continental NOW flying WITH the dog!!
I will still fly a dog on their airline......but only by itself.... NOT WITH
us!!
They charge full price....not excess baggage fees.....and for a dog in a
# 500 crate that is often MORE than we pay for ourselves....and they
charge full price upon return and that makes it DEFINITELY more than
we pay for ourselves.
Also....they tell me I must drop the dog off at Cargo and can no longer
take it through the Terminal with me as it is no longer considered
excess baggage. In some ariports that is a long way away from the
Terminal and takes time.......sigh.......
I'm not trying to change the world as we know it.....anyone can fly with
Continental WITH a dog that wants to....just not me....I'mdonenow.....<G>

I flew a dog in a 500 crate home with me from the nationals on frontier air
lines, They couldn't have been nicer to me or the dog. Helped me from the
curb to the check in. it was 100.00 added baggage.
I also have used continental Air lines and never had a problem.
