Well folks, I have tried to obtain discounts for those traveling to the 
Beaumont National and after many many e-mails and some snail mail to the 
PetSafe and Continental Cargo, I now have the final word.  

Regarding the shipping of dogs, they of course must abide by USDA regulations - 
as shown via the following link.

This takes care of any argument concerning the size of crate mandated for the 
dog. IT shows how to measure the dog and what is required by the USDA  (U. S. 
Dept. of Agriculture). Unfortunately the German Shepherd Dog with it's erect 
ears tends to put them into larger crates than they actually need.

Continental feels (due to customer feedback) that they provide outstanding 
service for our pets. They are recognized by AATA, Animal Fair, and Pets.com 
for their care of the pets and the customer service they provide. They have a 
reputation for being the "best in the industry".  They also state that,and I 
quote, "Most of our customers feel they are getting a great value for the cost 
of shipping, whether it is a family pet or show quality dog. This is based on 
the excellent condition in which these animals reach their destinations, and 
the reliability with regard to our money back guarantee to transport the pet on 
flight specific routing, We offer 24 hour tracking by dedicated agents at the 
PetSafe Desk, along with on-site kennel service available for animals 
transiting our international hubs in Newark and Houston. Climate controlled 
bins permit us to serve our pets year-round, from bulldogs to Chihuahuas: every 
animal receives expedited service from the aircraft to the termin
 al."

As I stated, I tried to obtain a discount for those taking multiple dogs to the 
Beaumont National - to no avail. They will be charge the full fees.  They are 
looking into the possibility for those identifying themselves as attending the 
National of providing them with a group discounted rate for their flight.
That's dogs must pay full fare and people possibly discounted.
