Well, in addition to my post earlier, I think your point is important. Rarely
do mutts who randomly breed select for such things as HD, eye problems etc, so
for anyone to think that a mutt could be healthier overall is kidding
themselves. The responsible breeder who does the best job possible in
selecting healthy and robust parents is still the puppy buyers best choice

Yes I too have heard this one but what makes it funnier is the stated reason
that mutts are healthier. The reason stated was because mutts are the
product of natural selection and humans havent mucked around with them.
Well in the case of these designer dogs, I guess that argument is a moot
point. Besides no one has ever really done a study on mutts and their
genetic problems. I've seen some pretty unhealthy mutts, and it wasnt
because they were not being properly cared for.
