Can I respectfully disagree with you Evan? The GSD was not built to run because
it does not have straight shoulders, straight pasterns, or tuck up like dogs
built to run. Look at Dobes and the sight hounds and the American Foxhound. It
takes more time for a GSD with a properly angulated shoulder moving
correctly with shoulder opening to extend its front than a dog with a straight
shoulder. Properly angulated pasterns help to cushion the pounding from moving
at a trot, which the standard says is the correct gait for the GSD. If you have
ever ridden a horse with straight pasterns at a trot you know what I'm saying.

Lori Nickeson had Ch. OTCH Debrut's Different Drummer. He was a beautiful dog
with the highest AKC obedience title. Just recently the first GSD dual
champion, AKC Ch and a herding Ch passed away. I believe there is now another
dual Ch out there by the name of Alex. And of course Helen Gleason had Ch ScH 3
Gator.

The conditional class was suggested for dogs with advanced working titles, not
RN's or CD's.
