What's "to do" radical? If you wanted to breed the dogs you would breed
to a clear IF we are at a point where we trust the test. <Our own Red Book
pointed out inconsistencies, so please spare me the 100s of e-mails>. The
incidence of DM is less than 7% according to everything I see and even then
we now know that there is a very high incidence of misdiagnosis because many
companion owners simply aren't going to do an MRI or myleogram (sp?) to
rule out other causes if symptoms that may look like DM. Statistically bloat
is 16% BTW. Not saying I want either for sure, but don't throw out the
baby....

I sent in 4 cheek swabs to the OFA for the DM tests--ALL came back as
carriers. I was disappointed, to say the least. 3 are bitches and 1
is a male--all different bloodlines. How would you feel if this
happened to you? What would you do, if anything? I'm very interested
in hearing people's heartfelt opinions.
