There has been a lot of dissatisfaction expressed lately with the GSDCA.
It is time to take a deep breath and think about what we have, and where we
are going.
We have a board of directors. Are they perfect? No. Do they work hard for
the club, Yes. Every person on the board serves us, and does so at the
best way they can, with the integrity that they feel they can provide.
We just had an issue come up with a board member, a person voted to judge
our National with the most votes of any candidate, and someone running for
vice president and a current board member.
The board did not do things I would recommend, but they worked hard,
expressed their opinions, cajoled, fought for what they thought was right and
just, and came to a decision. Was it perfect? No. Was it fair? Yes. Was it
just? Yes.
We need to recognize that our board is dedicated to this club. They do
the very best they can. If they are not perfect, consider what they give to
us, and what we pay for it.
I do not like being told to shut up. I do not like being called a terrible
lawyer. I do not like my friends being attacked or called names.
None of that even affects my admiration for the board members, my support
of this breed, or my dedication to the club.
Maybe I do not fit the profile of a normal member of the GSDCA, but it is
something I would urge everyone to adopt.
