How many breeders have had a 6-9 month old puppy win a major, at a show, only
to never finish their CH?
So, if the WD is in the 6-9 class at the National, and goes Select but NEVER
finishes his/her AKC CH, they can enter the Parade of Greats at future
Nationals? Or, are there other requirements for the Parade of Greats besides
winning a Select at a National?

have to start by saying I am in favor of changing the Parade of Greats to
include winners of the BIS, or perhaps a number of BOB at all-breed shows,

nother show. Those chosen to judge our National are the best of the best, (or
that is he theory). The best German shepherds in the country go to
ompete at the National. They come from throughout the United States, having
lready been deemed a Champion by three other judges. Then they compete against
the best that there is, and a few are given the Select rating.
ook. Every time I campaign a dog, the end target is getting a Select. I
on't agree that it is just one show and one opinion. It means more than
hat. There are many enthusiasts who work hard, campaign German shepherds,
how for years, and never own a Select dog.
don't think it is any secret that I think Harley is a great dog. But, I
on't think earning a Select rating is a small thing. It is just one step
elow Grand Victor and Grand Victrix, and supposed to be that same quality.
