The Past - The Classified Mission - Part 2 By Jefferson and Luann Carnegie Flashback â Day of Punishment â 6 Years Ago âBut, Luann is young also, and she has a life ahead of her.â Jefferson slumped in the chair, and put his head in his hands, âand what of your grandson?â Andrew looked squarely at Jefferson, âShe canât be?â âShe is.â Andrewâs face was drawn, as he walked from the cell, he walked by Luannâs cell and asked to enter in. There were unspoken words as the plan was hatched. Ambassador Andrew Carnegie was the only one besides of the Admiral that knew that each member of the group would not be killed, but rather they all would go through the mind erasing procedure, but each of them would believe that they all the others would be put to death. But how would Andrew be able to allow Luann to remember this, and still have an active role in his grandsonâs life, but still keep it unbeknownst to Jefferson. The four members of the team made their final walk together, ahead of them were four chambers, where they were to have their mind-alteration, or as the others thought, be put to death. They didnât dare mention to the others that they were having the procedure, to not cause strife or show preferential treatment. Jefferson entered his chamber, and sat in the chair, as the officers strapped him down. The same thing was happening in the other rooms, he was sure. The procedure took less than five minutes for Jefferson, but the follow-up was the most strenuous as he was almost interrogated as to what he knew. Finally they determined that he didnât recall anything prior to his entering the Academy, and he was released to return home to Pittsburgh. He passed Luann in the hall afterwards and there was no acknowledgement that either knew each other.
