This is a great leadership opportunity for our older scouts and a
nationally recognized scout leadership program that would enhance any
resume or college application. This is the top BSA leadership program
available to scouts and it is being offered this summer at our Cherokee
Scout Camp.

Friends,

 

Attached you will find several items including promotional information,
applicant signup sheets and an informational letter directed to leaders
about our upcoming National Youth Leadership Training Course 1. This is
the highest level of local council training available to Boy Scouts and
we are proud to be hosting this course at Cherokee Scout Reservation
during week 6. We currently need outstanding candidates to apply for
youth staff positions. Youth staff should have and be able to
demonstrate a leadership skills and a desire to work within the patrol
method. 16 Youth staff will be selected and will receive their
certification after completing the course. The staff fee is just $75
while participants will learn leadership for the week at a great value
of $150.

 

It is highly encouraged that troops with candidates for participants
scholarship all or part of their course fee. I promise you will see a
return on investment and help develop a life-long devotion to Scouting
in the mind of successful candidates. 

 

Registration will open Monday at the council office. All applicants must
have the approval of their scoutmaster.
