Or is this just me?Hi Bill, 1 person reported a temporary problem yesterday with a download, but when I checked all the mirrors a bit later, they were all fine. What *may* have happened is you downloaded a database, while I was uploading to the mirrors and so the database file didn't matched the signed file. I've added an extra option to rsync "--delay-updates" which should have avoid issues like this. Let me know if you see the problem again. You may have noticed that I'm still getting this problem, but not all the time. It would appear to depend on which mirror I access. I have set up a test server to fully monitor this issue and I will try and collate which mirrors are problematic for me.Bill, you could try these to test all of the mirror sites one at a time: rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://66.18.67.75/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://69.63.144.18/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://69.63.144.20/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://78.46.253.227/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://78.129.234.10/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://87.118.124.191/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://88.191.80.151/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://91.121.188.82/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://91.184.38.147/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://141.42.202.27/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://147.102.222.211/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://173.10.94.185/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://193.158.37.141/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://194.77.111.24/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://216.218.235.89/sanesecurity . rsync --no-motd --timeout=30 -crtz --stats --exclude=*.sha256 --exclude=*.txt --dry-run rsync://217.11.63.115/sanesecurity . Run them from an empty directory. They are all set to use a "--dry-run", so nothing will be actually be downloaded, but it will show you what would be download. Let us know how it goes... Bill
Well, I've done several of these so far, and they all produce results like
Number of files: 20 Number of files transferred: 19 Total file size: 5597947 bytes Total transferred file size: 5597947 bytes Literal data: 0 bytes Matched data: 0 bytes File list size: 696 File list generation time: 0.038 seconds File list transfer time: 0.000 seconds Total bytes sent: 119 Total bytes received: 792 sent 119 bytes received 792 bytes 260.29 bytes/sec total size is 5597947 speedup is 6144.84 (DRY RUN)
Also, the production and test servers are now producing valid results again. Maybe the rsync "--delay-updates" change by Steve has got the mirrors in line. Still monitoring.....
