[samscommunity] SC Book Festival this Saturday

MESSAGE FROM ST. ANDREWS MIDDLE SCHOOL:


It's nearly here....the 15th Annual South Carolina Book Festival begins on 
Saturday and runs through Sunday (May 14-15) at the Columbia Convention Center. 
 All events are free and open to the public.  The festival opens at 9 am on 
Saturday and 10 am on Sunday.  Events end at 5:00 pm on both days.
 
Please try to visit as there is something for everyone!  Authors, exhibits, 
master classes, a special children's pavilion, and lots, lots more!  The City 
of Columbia will also have a special celebration to conclude the One Book, One 
Columbia reading initiative.  
 
You can learn more about the many authors who will be in attendance and all of 
the special events leading up to the Book Festival.  Follow this link for more

Honor and the Coretta Scott King Award. 

Caroline B. Cooney - YA author - Code Orange was on the YABA Nominee list one 
year!

Joyce Hansen - YA/Children's author - also had a YABA nominee as well as 
Coretta Scott King Honor Book Award FOUR TIMES!

Neal Shusterman - YA Author - on the ALA Best Books for Young Adults and Quick 
Picks for Reluctant Young Readers lists.
