Parents,
The rising ninth grade summer reading project is attached to this
email. Please ensure that your child completes the required activities,
one per book (not the same project). These assignments are due the
first day of the 2011 - 2012 school year. Be sure your child
understands that he/she is to read one required book and one self -
selected book (from the SC Young Adult Book Award list). This
information will be given to eighth grade students and sent to student
email accounts. It is also available on the Columbia High Website
(scroll to the bottom of the page - look for the picture of the
school).
* Be sure to contact other high schools to find out their summer
reading requirement if you know your child is not going to attend
Columbia High.
Required titles are:
English I CP (ninth grade regular):
* Twisted Laurie H. Anderson (required)
English I Honors (ninth grade AAP):
*Lord of the Flies by William Golding (required)
Students must also select one title from the list below (check out the
attachments for an explanation of each title):
