i hv no idea bout how to do it in C/C++ itself.   but one way is to write code 
for various types of I/O in assembly language and den incorporate dem as 
library functions in ur C++ code. the object code(developed by u in assembly 
lang) will be linked at run time.  there are tools to do this.
