To all, lots of good thoughts, ideas and comments . . . to which I'll add my thoughts. Canvased the TAAA sites to see what they do in regards to this topic and discovered something very interesting. They don't have links to other software on any of their web pages, what they do is have a link at http://www.tucsonastronomy.org/links.html to "The Astronomy Net" at http://www.astronomy.net/ and they have links for software - and losts of other intereseting astronomy stuff. I don't know what it takes to get links to software on this site, perhaps they indicate such somewhere on the page. Another possibility, that may have been mentioned earlier but escapes me just now, would be to post links only for software that uses SAC databases. While this limits the amount of links, it is still a lot of links. This could also lead to a full time job - something which I don't want any webmaster to have to handle. What I'm saying, I guess, is that, in the final analysis, it doesn't seem to be a good idea for us to have links to web sites that use software - even if it is ours. It seems better to have a link to another site willing to post the links. When I say 'a' link, I'm really thinking of one and not more than three, or four, or five or so - essentially keep it reasonable! aj AJ Crayon wrote: > Got the following request that contains a situation we haven't discussed > before.
