One of the reasons why the db wasn't copyrighted is because the data is from
public domain. Not sure what problems one has to resolve if an attempt is
made to copyright something in the public domain. Remember the data there
is not an original work, which I believe is necessary for something to be in
public domain.

magnificent" SAC database...
