Thank you for the early notice...
I will come on Friday at 8:15 am in the Art Room (UBC meeting). I cannot
make it on 1/23 due to a Dr. Appt.
Regarding the agenda for UBC: I'm putting out the question:
Hey teachers, do we have issues with the CLA testing, including the grading
by teacher of the constructed response?
Does anyone have problems with Synergy attendance? I find it distracting
to have to go to my computer to enter attendance during class. It's only
mildly annoying for me: my difficult class reverts to chaos while I am
recording attendance on the computer.
Anyone having trouble with the implementation of Word Generation? I'm ok
on this one: just asking, you know?
Does anyone else have issues with the fact that students are transferred in
and out of classes without even consulting the teacher? no teacher input
sought at all. I was told by Michael: "Don't question my decisions." OK,
I can understand that, but what about removing a student from my class
without consulting me at all? Don't they need my input? (He removed a
really sweet student to "make up" for adding a problem child to my class.)
Is everyone ok on the evaluations this year? This one doesn't apply to me,
personally.
The administration is working on the Master Schedule. According to the
contract, UBC is supposed to have input on this.. Each year we ask for
input and get no input. Anyone want to yell about this one?
Class Size: Personally I have 34 kids in my most difficult class, which is
far too many. Class sizes should be balanced and equitable, and as close to
the contract goals as possible.
Master Schedule: We have 2 focuses: Master Schedule for teachers includes
number of preps, class size equity issue.
Shouldn't we have a bit more fostering of teamwork and esprit de corps?
This is really a vague complaint: I have NEVER felt so disconnected with
the rest of my colleagues as this year. Does anyone else feel like this?
That's all I can think of now.
