I had been planning on bringing a handful of exposed E6 rolls with me to the US
this summer, but of course forgot to pack them :-/.
Was planning on trying Carmencita, but the price is off putting, especially
considering the strong Euro at the moment. It’s €9/roll just for developing.
I’ve tried Cewe labs in Germany for E6, each and every time I send film there
it comes back dull, blass and muddy. I’d say it was my exposure, but other
rolls I’ve taken elsewhere and developed elsewhere come out great. Cheap is
worthless if there’s no quality.
If anyone has any suggestions, I have 8-10 rolls of E6 I still need to get
developed…
For B&W I do all my own developing, Rodinal for the most part, since my film of
choice is APX100, as long as my supplies hold.

I'm "jumping" into the discussion since I like projecting medium
format slides as well.
Actually I have 2 projectors for 6x6 slides. the first one is a
French-made SFOM MALMAISON with an old-style 220V / 300 W bulb, bought
used at the end of the seventies. This SFOM projector uses bulbs of a
different kind with respect to the Rollei P11.
The second is a Leitz Prado Universal recently found on eBay. The
Prado is fitted with a 24V / 250W halogen bulb.
For the SFOM, I have some proprietary SFOM 6x6 trays for slides mounted
in 7x7 cm frames, but I do not use those trays, I only use the one by
one slide holder. For the Prado I only have a one-by-one slide holder.
The SFOM is not very bright, something like 800 ANSI lumens which is
quite low according to current standards for video-projectors. I have
no idea for the Prado, certainly brighter than the SFOM but it is
still less bright than a modern video-projector.
I would recommend to prefer a projector with a 24V / 250W halogen
bulb, since those bulbs are used in various lighting devices and are
very cheap and easy to find. Old 110-127 V or 220 V bulbs are now
collectors' items and are much more expensive.
But for the most part, I wait until summer visits to Europe, and head to
a DM drugstore in Germany, for the 2.40 or 3.40 Euro processing charge
for a roll of 120, price dependent on whether sleeve or unsleeved.

I have my 120 colour slides E6-processed by mail order in France, but the
cost is about 8 euro per roll which is still much less than USD 16, even
taking into account the current exchange rate (as of 2016-10-03): USD 1.1 per
1 euro.
BTW I still have a few 120 rolls of AGFA SCALA unexposed, this can be
processed in several labs in Europe and in the US.
Recently, FOTO-IMPEX have introduced a B&W film named "ADOX SCALA 160" to
continue the supply of B&W slide film to be processed in the AGFA SCALA
process. So far this SCALA 160 film is available in 135 rolls only

and they di not offer 120 rolls yet, but I'm following what ADOX-FOTO
IMPEX is offering, I would no be surprised if they offer B&W slides in
120 rolls soon.
