That Wide-Angle has the option to use the planglass or glass to maintain rigid like a plate the film on the focal plane. The back pressure plate has three positions for three different film channels:for 24x36mm,for 6x6cm without glass and 6x6 with planglass; writing from memory I think the bulge allows space for the pressure plate spring in the position for the planglass making room for this glass.
