The batteries are the same, but not the fuses. The SLX uses a different fuse: 0.8 A, medium acting. The present batteries have 1.25 A, slow acting. IIRC some cameras use 1.0 A. When getting a new battery make sure to check the fuse (and the spare one!) and if necessary exchange them for the ones from your old battery.
The chargers were already described by someone else. I would like to add that the new Charger C has a discharging circuit to prevent the "memory effect" of the NiCads. It looks like the "trickle charge" or "pulse" charge was dropped with the Charger C as that feature is not mentioned in the manual.
