[rollei_list] Re: SLX/6000series batteries/chargers

Stan,

All the chargers will charge the 6000/SLX batteries.

The early models were a bit 'brutal' with their charging method, ie full
charge all the time, which did not do any favours to the already bad
name of NiCd battery life. I have 4 early ones, all with different
letter suffix but I do not use them. The later ones were better. The one
I use is the one which came with my 6008i. This will give an initial
'bumper' charge and then will 'pulse' charge for a few 'milliseconds'
every few minutes or so. The idea is that the batteries can be left on
charge almost indefinitely (?) without harm. I think that this model
carries an 'M' or 'N' suffix. The very latest have a discharge facility
built in too and are available from Rollei (F&H).

As a guide, if thery are heavy, ie have a transformer, they are the old
type and should be used for muscle building. ;-) The new ones are
electronic and are very light.

Regards

John

Are the batts/chargers for the 6000s the same as for the SLX?
