[rollei_list] OT: CRT Monitors and Macs / Heering/Rolleiflex book deal

This is of interest to me. Is there a consensus that photo editing is best done on a CRT rather than a LCD monitor?

If so I should get one of the last Intel based eMacs before they are phased out this fall. It was Apple's last CRT based machine. I recently bought an older eMac on EBAY for my wife and she is very happy with it so far.

David Brooks also gave the eMac a glowing review in the January 2003 Shutterbug.

What's the wide carriage archival print (color and B&W) printer to get these days? Canon, Epson...? (Main concern: ink cartridge efficiency/affordability)

One Rollei-related tip:
Just learned that Lindemanns Bookstore in Stuttgart, Germany is selling the classic:
Walther Heering: "Das Rolleiflex-Buch" at half price.
Reprint of 1967 Edition (with SL 66). 360 pages with 200 B&W Illustrations.,
(previously EUR 50,00); now EUR 24,90; Order-Nr. 99174R

I am NOT affiliated with this store, just thought this was worth passing on. (Hope that's okay, Marc, outside of Fridays).

Thanks much! I'll take a look for Sonys when I get back to New Orleans. I have been concerned about non-CRT monitors. I'll look for the Samsung as well. Thanks again!
