Thanks for all the replies guys. After taking a closer look it is only the
1/30th, B, and Auto speeds that are not working properly. I am going to try
and shoot a couple rolls with the other speed and see how they come out. If
it needs more work I will contact Harry Fleenor, but if I recall correctly
when I first was getting it a repaired Mr. Ebel was one of the only guys
that could work on the Magic. Thanks again.

I uploaded a few of the photos I have taken with the camera so far here -

Kevin,

When you say the slower speeds, which ones? The speeds only go from 1/500
to 1/30 anyway. Is it in maunal or automatic that the problem lies?

I sent my 'magic2 off to have the shutter cleaned and when it came back,
the linkages had not been aligned properly. The repairer did not realise
that there is a specific way of reassembly in the 'magic. I ended up taking
the front casing off and refitting it myself because there was no point
taking it back if he could not do it properly in the first place. I guess
that this is not your problem because it has worked for a time but the
reassembly is quite fiddly and if not correct will cause shutter speed
problems.

I like the 'magics. The '2' is better because you have manual overide.
When they work they are a good automatic camera; when they don't they are a
block of little use. :-) I have found the exposure to be accurate and
useful in rapidly changing light conditions. There are better Rolleis but
the 'magics are fine cameras too.

I always keep my selenium cell covered with black electrical tape, when
not being used, to prolong its life. Ideally the incident light cover with
black tape inside is more secure and looks better.

John
