As the original poster of this thread, I thank all who have contributed. I find that manual exposure with the 6006 is a chore, unless an external meter is used. The over/under LEDs in the VF don't work in that mode, so I have to use the preview button in Auto mode and see what the f-stop indicator says, then vary + or - from that in manual mode, if the subject/lighting demands. And with an "EL" lens (I have the 50 Distagon) there is not even the moving f-stop indicator, so Auto is the only option (other than an external meter.) This is not to say that Auto mode is bad, much of the time. I've used the TLRs for years, and by comparison I find my recently-acquired 6006 to be bulky, heavy, and noisy, esp. the latter. IMHO, it really is not a field camera, but lens interchangeability is a plus, compared with using the Mutars on the TLR.
